Maasu Engira Masilamani Massu (A Venkat Prabhu Sixer) – The ball pitches before the boundary line. There is non-stop excitement, with all the characters in the film being on some kind of high, literally bursting with energy. With all the above positives and negatives, Massu seems to be a slight bounce back for the hero as well as the director, as their previous films didn’t do well. In fact, the villain domination and payback portions are so outdated that they take the viewers back to the 90s era of commercial cinema.

Surya‘s performance during critical scenes, the portrayal of ghosts interacting with a human, the funny moments associated with it (thanks to Karunas, Sriman, Brahmanandam, Rajendran, and Shanmuga Sundaram for adding a lighthearted flavor), the Sri Lankan Tamil accent of Shakthi, and the surprising interval block, creates a good and effective impression about the movie and increases expectation about the rest of the film. One gets a feel that Nayanthara, who is supposed to be the heroine, is also in a cameo role. In addition, Parthiban and Pranitha (Saguni fame) give extended cameo appearances. Talking about the artists, Massu has Surya in dual role (Masilamani and Shakthi), Premji, as Masilamani’s friend, has a considerable screen space and does a neat job. Doesn’t this one liner sound different for a horror comedy? Is this not enough for the entire two and a half hours? It is nothing but the superpower, a human gets to see, interact, and help kind hearted ghosts. Without any further delay, lets move on to its storyline. None other than anything, we are referring to Venkat Prabhu‘s Massu Engira Masilamani Massu. Its popularity is such that the artists and directors of more star value choose to implement a project of the same sort.
